Lawn & garden
Cut at the right height, edged sharp, and gone before the clippings dry
Mowing, edging, trimming and bed upkeep on a weekly, bi-weekly or seasonal plan, run by David Hertzog and his crew across Millsboro and Sussex County.
Chapter 01
Where mowing usually goes wrong
Most tired lawns are not neglected, they are cut wrong. Scalp the turf too low in July and the roots bake, crabgrass moves in and the stripes turn to patches. Dull blades tear grass instead of slicing it, which leaves the ragged brown tips you can spot from the street. And clippings left across a walk or driveway tell the neighbors the job ended early.
David Hertzog built the crew routine around those three misses. Cut at a height the grass can recover from, keep the edge sharp, and never leave clippings where people walk. It is not complicated, but it is the part that gets skipped when a lawn service is chasing volume across Sussex County.

A visit from start to finish, home or not
On the scheduled day the crew mows, edges the walks and beds, trims the borders and blows the clippings clear. In the growing season that usually means every one to two weeks, depending on rainfall and how fast the grass is moving. You do not need to be home, as long as the crew can get into the yard.
Plans run weekly, bi-weekly or seasonal, and the price follows the size of your lawn and how often it is cut. David walks the property first, then gives you a free, no-obligation estimate. There is no contract to sign. Call (484) 332-5555 and he will set a day to look at your yard in Millsboro.
Chapter 03
What happens to the beds and the turf between mows
A lawn does not stop at the grass line. Garden beds get weeded and the soil turned, spent flowers are deadheaded, bed edges are recut crisp and mulch is topped off so it holds moisture and keeps weeds down. Seasonal planting or removal is handled in the same visit, whether you have one front bed or a full backyard garden.
Leaves and debris come off the turf before they smother it, and the crew watches turf health as they go: thin patches, weed pressure, spots that want seed or fertilizer. Organic and eco-conscious options are available on request. Seasonal plans can cover spring and summer only, or carry through fall cleanups and winter prep.

“This is our first year with Hertzog's lawn care, but so far we are extremely pleased. David shows up each week on the day and time he scheduled. He cuts, trims, and blows clippings with care. Highly recommend!”
